2D / Concept Artist
THE ROLE
We are looking for a talented 2D / Concept Artist with excellent skills in Photoshop and proficiency in Unity who can create jaw-dropping, top notch concept art and 2D assets to create that epic gaming experience! Strengths in traditional arts and visual effects are highly sought after, plus a background in Unity or similar game development platforms is highly desired.
The ideal candidate is passionate about mobile games and has great creative skills when it comes to thinking outside the box. You are comfortable taking initiative, love solving problems and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. Great communication between leads/artists/developers/designers is also expected in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- You will be working with a team of artists and mobile developers to create 2D / concept art for our games which are developed in Unity.
- You will spend most of your time creating awesome concept art and based on this, tweaking and implementing stunning 2D assets easily translated into 3D.
- When not doing that, then you may for example spend your time developing and texturing simple 3D meshes, packing texture sheets, and assembling Unity prefabs....
- You will present and defend your design decisions. All your design decisions should be based on the overall design roadmap as well as your own design thinking and fundamental principles (i.e. color theory, visual weight, etc.)
- You will continually keep yourself and your design team updated with the latest changes in your industry’s standards.
- You will strive to be a great team player with the ability to collaborate closely with art, developers, and designers.
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of experience in games development.
- Has worked on more than two complete projects.
- Able to work in a large range of art styles.
- Can review your own work based on concept art.
- Able to work independently and to produce high-quality results.
- Able to communicate visually, and to identify and define visual design issues and solutions.
- Excellent design skills, including the effective use of color, form, lighting, and composition.
- Create readable designs for environments, characters, props, weapons, and vehicles that can be translated into 3D assets.
- Proficient in ZBrush.
- Proficient texture skills from Substance/Photoshop/Ddo.
- Preferably a strong foundation in the traditional arts.
- Able to work independently and to produce high-quality results.
- Proficient in Unity and knows by heart how to implement your own work into the game.
- Strong portfolio to be presented and explained during the interview.
