Release & QA manager - TEMP contract

THE ROLE

We are looking for a skillful Release & QA manager on a freelance or project basis, sitting in Stockholm during the parental leave of one of our awesome co-workers.

In this role, you will be responsible for successfully releasing our products whilst ensuring that the game meets the highest standards quality-wise before getting in the hands of our players.

You will be responsible for defining quality assurance KPIs and working across internal production teams such as design, art, and programming to ensure they meet the quality expectations of the games. You will collaborate with producers and other stakeholders on defining quality expectations and driving that vision across our game portfolio.

The ideal candidate possesses the following:

  • Passion for games on any platform, and mobile games in particular
  • Result-driven and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with great communication skills
  • Experience testing unreleased and released products with a frequent release cycle
  • Ability to work independently and show initiative

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for Defining QA strategy, approach, and execution in the development projects
  • Drive execution of player Alpha, Beta and other playtesting experiences in collaboration with Production
  • Identify, isolate, regress and communicate bugs effectively and efficiently
  • Have a clear understanding of the game development process and status of the game
  • Maintain the bug fix database (JIRA)
  • Create test plans for unreleased and released products
  • Work closely with the project owner and developers
  • Interact with our customer support and game communities to provide and gather feedback
  • Research, plan and communicate with external partners
  • Be up to date with Android and iOS release rules and quality standards

SKILLS NEEDED

  • Experience with QA practices and bug prevention experience
  • A good understanding of mobile games and knowledge about the gaming industry
  • Proficiency in defect tracking tools such as JIRA.
  • Basic understanding of continuous integration such as Gitlab CI, unit tests and testing frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of Software Development processes and continuous development.
  • Complete fluency in English, both written and orally.
    Ability to recognize and report critical issues and raise concerns to production

NICE TO HAVE

  • Background in the gaming industry will be a great asset
  • 1-3 years of QA Management experience in the gaming indsutry
  • Basic knowledge of game engines
